Ms. Charlotte Whitman
The Unified Arts and Athletics department provides students with instruction in Music (taught by myself and Mrs. Cohen), Art (taught by Ms. Harrison), and Physical Education (taught by Mr. Silver). Our pre-kindergarten through 8th grade programs in these areas are designed to give Jumoke Academy students meaningful, in-depth, and enduring experiences in each of our subject areas.
The arts and athletics curricula are aligned with state and national standards, as well as Jumoke Academy academic curricula. Classes in the U.A.A. department are designed to support lifelong learning by developing skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, and perseverance. We strive to create global learners by integrating into our classes learning experiences involving many cultures, traditions, and art forms. We believe that participation in the creative arts and athletics is an integral part of developing well-rounded, global citizens.
